In 2007, Pamla Wood, Kris McClanahan and Meriah Kruse met to exchange ideas about a potential new non-profit organization, eventually resulting in Motion Matters, a 501(c)3 educational organization.  In early 2009, a group of friends and colleagues were assembled at the new Mind Body Studio by Pamla and Meriah for an afternoon exchanging ideas and exploring possibilities for the future direction of the new nonprofit.  Many of these participants joined an expanded board of directors.  Thus began a year of doing the hidden work behind building non-profit organizations.  Finally, in April 2010, Motion Matters was ready to go live with a new website, a further expanded board, a mission statement, concrete ideas for future programming, and a Launch Party.
